The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Bangladesh’s women’s cricketer Soheli Akhter for five years due to match-fixing allegations. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the decision in a statement on Tuesday (February 11). The ban stems from her involvement in match-fixing during the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Reports on the issue were initially published by Jamuna Television that year. As a result, Soheli is prohibited from participating in any form of cricket during the suspension period.
