BSF Pins High Hopes on Swimmer Samiul for World Aquatics Championships

The Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) has selected swimmers Samiul Islam Rafi and Any Akter for the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in Singapore from July 11 to August 3. Samiul, currently training in Thailand under a FINA scholarship, will compete in the 50m and 100m backstroke, while Any will participate in the 50m and 100m freestyle. BSF prioritized Samiul over Kajal Miah to retain the FINA scholarship, as he set three national records in 2024. BSF aims to develop Samiul for the SA Games and future competitions. Any was chosen over other female swimmers based on age and long-term potential, aligning with BSF’s vision of nurturing talent for the next decade.
