A massive traffic jam has paralyzed the Dhaka-bound lane of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, stretching from Madanpur to Jatrabari. The congestion began around 9 PM on Wednesday due to restrictions on truck entry into Dhaka ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. As a result, trucks have lined up along the highway, blocking multiple lanes and causing severe difficulties for commuters. By 11:30 PM, the traffic congestion had extended over 13 kilometers. Truck drivers reported that police were preventing their entry into Dhaka, forcing them to park on the roadside. The congestion has left thousands of travelers stranded. Siddhirganj’s Shimrail Police Camp in-charge, Abu Naim Siddique, confirmed that efforts are underway to resolve the situation, and some trucks have been allowed to move.
