By At least 49 people have been arrested across Bangladesh for acts of vandalism during protests held in solidarity with Gaza. In Gazipur’s Board Bazar area, four were detained for allegedly sabotaging and vandalizing local businesses, including Tripti and Radhuni hotels and a Bata outlet. Similar incidents occurred in Khulna and Sylhet, where 31 and 14 individuals were detained respectively for attacking and looting stores. Police and army forces acted quickly to control the unrest and are reviewing video footage to identify others involved. Bata issued a statement denying any Israeli links, condemning the violence triggered by misinformation. Cases are being filed in all affected regions, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend more suspects.
