By The hanging body of Rajshahi University (RU) student Sifatullah Sifat was recovered from a dormitory near the university on Friday at around 7:30 pm. Sifat, a second-year Fisheries Department student, was found in his room at Tuhin Student Hostel with a gamcha tied around his neck from a ceiling fan. RU Proctor Professor Dr. Mahbubur Rahman stated that Sifat had been suffering from depression, suggesting suicide as a possible cause. However, Fisheries Faculty Dean ABM Mohsin noted that the exact reason remains unknown. Chandrima Police Station OC Matiar Rahman confirmed the body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
