Hundreds of women marched in a torch procession in Lalmatia, Dhaka, demanding a ban on public smoking. Organized under the banner of “Mohammadpur Residents,” the protest took place at 10:30 PM on Wednesday. The demonstrators chanted slogans against smoking and drug abuse, urging stricter regulations. Local residents joined the march in solidarity, expressing concerns over increasing drug use in the area, which they claimed was influencing the youth negatively. Protesters also criticized misinformation spread by Indian media regarding recent events in Bangladesh.
