By Students across Bangladesh have erupted in protest against the rising incidents of rape and sexual violence. At Dhaka University (DU), teachers and students gathered under the University Teachers’ Network, demanding strict legal action and issuing a 24-hour ultimatum for justice. Protesters chanted slogans calling for the arrest and punishment of rapists, warning of intensified demonstrations if demands were unmet. At Khulna University, students staged a 3:00 AM protest, demanding capital punishment for the accused in the Magura rape case. Similar protests took place at North South University, Independent University Bangladesh, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, and Comilla Victoria Government College. Demonstrators urged immediate government action, threatening larger mobilizations if justice was delayed.
