By A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on retired Major General Md. Safinul Islam, former chief of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and his wife, Soma Islam. The order was issued on Thursday (March 13) by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).ACC’s Deputy Assistant Director Sabikun Nahar filed the petition, citing an ongoing investigation into allegations of abuse of power, financial irregularities, and acquiring wealth beyond known sources. According to reliable sources, Safinul Islam may attempt to flee abroad. To ensure a fair investigation, the ACC requested the court to restrict their foreign travel. The court granted the request, preventing them from leaving the country while the investigation continues.
