By Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan will meet Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal on Wednesday (March 19) to discuss the exclusion of expatriate footballer Fahmidul Islam. The 18-year-old forward, who plays in Italy’s Serie D, was initially called up for the national team’s training camp but later dropped from the final squad, prompting him to return to Italy. Fans protested in front of the BFF building on Tuesday, demanding Fahmidul’s inclusion and calling for an end to alleged syndicate control in football. Coach Javier Cabrera cited Fahmidul’s talent and speed but said he is not yet ready for the national team.
