Beef prices in Dhaka have increased by Tk 30-50 per kg due to high demand ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Meat traders claim that the surge is driven by increased cattle costs at Gabtoli market, where prices per cow have risen by up to Tk 15,000. As a result, beef prices have reached Tk 800 per kg in some areas. Sellers report a sharp rise in sales, with customers purchasing more meat than usual. Buyers, like Mohammad Suman from Shewrapara, have noted the price hike firsthand, paying Tk 750 per kg earlier and Tk 800 per kg later. Traders expect prices to return to normal after Eid.
