By Australian cricketer Travis Head has sparked controversy in India over an Uber advertisement that allegedly mocks Bengaluru and IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The 58-second ad features Head visiting what appears to be Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, spray-painting “Royally Challenged” over the city’s name, and fleeing on a bike after being chased by guards. The ad has gone viral, amassing nearly 1.4 million views. RCB’s ownership has filed a lawsuit against Uber in the Delhi High Court, accusing the company of ridiculing their brand. While the ad was meant to promote Uber humorously, it has not gone down well with RCB fans and management. The court has yet to issue a verdict on the matter.
