By Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are set to face off in a two-match Test series starting Sunday in Sylhet, both aiming to revive their struggling red-ball records. Ranked 9th and 12th respectively in the ICC Test rankings, both teams are coming off disappointing years. Bangladesh’s young pace talent Nahid Rana, who already has 20 wickets in six Tests, will be one to watch on a pitch expected to favor fast bowlers. Skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto emphasized the need for top-order consistency, while Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine is optimistic about the opportunities for his inexperienced side. Despite past dominance over Zimbabwe, Bangladesh enters the series with five wins in their last 13 Tests. The second Test begins April 28 in Chittagong.
