By Medical Assistant Training School (MATS) students staged a protest at Shahbagh, Dhaka, on February 9, demanding the fulfillment of their four-point demands. Hundreds of students marched to Shahbagh around 11 AM, blocking traffic from TSC to Shahbagh. The protesters expressed frustration over the lack of action from the Ministry of Health despite previous assurances. Their demands include the immediate recruitment of vacant posts under the Directorate General of Health Services, the creation of a Sub-Assistant Medical Officer post in community clinics, necessary revisions to the 2021 curriculum, and recognition for clinical higher education. They also called for modifications to the proposed Allied Health Professional Board draft law. In January, MATS students had previously staged a similar protest at Shahbagh.
