By Under the ongoing nationwide operation “Devil Hunt,” law enforcement agencies have arrested 82 Awami League activists in Gazipur. The operation, conducted overnight on January 8, led to the detention of 40 individuals across five police stations in Gazipur district and 42 others in eight metropolitan police stations. The joint forces, including Gazipur Metropolitan Police, the Bangladesh Army, RAB, and other security agencies, carried out the raids.Gazipur Superintendent of Police, Dr. Chowdhury Md. Jaber Sadeq, confirmed that the operation is still underway. Among the 42 detainees in the metropolitan area, arrests were made in Pubail, Metro Sadar, Basan, Tongi East, Gacha, Konabari, and Kashimpur police stations. Additional Police Commissioner Md. Zahidul Hasan stated that the Gazipur Metropolitan Police continue their crackdown in various areas.
