According to Hasnat, the proposal was presented to him and others on March 11 by military officials, offering political concessions in exchange for supporting this scheme. He rejected it, insisting on prosecuting Awami League rather than rehabilitating it. Hasnat warned of attempts to bring Awami League back into politics after August 5, calling it a national crisis. He urged unity against this alleged conspiracy, vowing that Awami League must be banned without compromise.
