BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has warned that the longer elections are delayed, the more conspiracies will grow, as those who looted the country’s wealth and fled abroad will fund such plots. Speaking at a discussion with injured photojournalists and their families on February 17, he emphasized the need for timely elections to restore political leadership and prevent further destabilization. He stressed that political rights and voting rights must be ensured to build a just nation, accusing the ruling party of suppressing fundamental freedoms for 15 years. Other BNP leaders, including Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, echoed concerns over market syndicates, alleged human rights violations, and the need for justice over recent political violence. They asserted that only BNP could deliver accountability and restore democratic governance.
