The movement aligned with a global call from Palestinian activists urging institutions to close in protest. Authorities increased security in diplomatic zones like Gulshan and Baridhara. According to UN reports, Israeli strikes since October 7, 2023, have killed over 50,000 Palestinians and destroyed around 69% of Gaza’s infrastructure.
