Shakib Al Hasan Says He’s Ready to Return and Cooperate—If Safety Is Ensured

Cricketer and former MP Shakib Al Hasan has expressed his willingness to return to Bangladesh and cooperate with authorities in ongoing investigations—on the condition that his security is guaranteed. In an interview with Daily Sun, Shakib claimed innocence and said he’s been made a scapegoat in several business-related cases. He also reflected on his cricket career, stating he intended to retire from Test cricket last year but was prevented due to political unrest and legal troubles. Shakib defended his political involvement, asserting it was his right and intention to serve. Despite criticism, he remains hopeful of retiring while playing for Bangladesh. “Judge me on 18 years of service, not just the last six months,” he said.
