By Real Madrid secured a crucial 2-1 victory against Villarreal, thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappé. Despite conceding early, Madrid bounced back, with Mbappé scoring twice to seal the win. This victory puts Los Blancos three points ahead of Barcelona, though they have played two more matches. Madrid had concerns over the scheduling, having played a grueling Champions League match just 72 hours earlier. Coach Carlo Ancelotti rested Vinícius Jr., while Villarreal started aggressively, scoring first through Juan Foyth. However, Madrid quickly responded, with Mbappé equalizing in the 17th minute and scoring again soon after. With 20 La Liga goals, Mbappé is closing in on top scorer Robert Lewandowski (21). Barcelona can reclaim the top spot by winning their remaining matches.
