Prices now range from Tk 400 to Tk 1,800, up from the previous Tk 350 to Tk 1,500. Matinee show prices increased by Tk 50–150, while evening and weekend shows rose by Tk 200–300. Social media erupted with criticism, and filmmakers like Dipankar Dipon expressed concern over the affordability for middle-class families. He noted that a simple movie date could now cost nearly Tk 2,000, discouraging attendance and potentially harming the film industry. The lack of transparency and steep pricing are being seen as barriers to accessible entertainment for the average viewer.
